Full job description

Managed by Atlific Hotels, the award winning full service, four-diamond Marriott Victoria Inner Harbour overlooks Victoria's historic and charming downtown, located just steps from world class attractions, venues and dining. With 236 elegantly appointed rooms and 5,000 square feet of meeting space, this hotel is consistently ranked high for overall guest satisfaction.

The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the hotel operations during the night shift. This role combines the duties of a front desk agent, accounting procedures, and guest service representative. The Night Auditor ensures all financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciles accounts, and provides excellent guest services to ensure a comfortable and seamless guest experience. The Night Auditor is responsible for the safety and security of the hotel guests, associates, and property during the overnight shift (11:00pm – 7:00am).

Responsibilities:

Check in and check out guests efficiently and courteously.
Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
Provide information about the hotel, available services, and other inquiries.
Reconcile and balance all accounts for the day, ensuring accurate and complete financial records.
Prepare and distribute daily management reports, including the daily revenue report and other key financial summaries.
Process and verify payments, ensuring compliance with hotel policies and procedures.
Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment securely and accurately.
Monitor the security of the hotel, ensuring all doors are locked and the property is secure.
Conduct regular property walks to ensure safety and security standards are met.
Respond to emergency situations promptly and follow established protocols.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

One-year previous experience in a similar role required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
Proficiency in hotel software and Excel.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during overnight hours.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to work over night shift, weekends and holidays.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Valid BC Driver's license required with the ability to drive both standard and automatic vehicles.
Occupational First Aid Level 1 or higher preferred
