Join our team as our newest Industrial Cleaner (all shifts, all locations).
Position Summary:
We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Industrial Cleaners to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various environments including a manufacturing plant, washrooms, lunchrooms and office areas, ensuring that all areas are clean and in order. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate industrial vacuum cleaners and floor-sweeping/scrubbing machines to remove dirt, scraps, coolant, oil and heavy debris from office and shop floor areas.
- Collect waste and recycling from the shop floor, offices, lunchrooms, washrooms, etc., and dispose of in appropriate outdoor bins/compactors.
- Mop, clean and sanitize washrooms, lunchrooms, and the kitchenettes, including high-touchpoints in the facility, such as doorknobs, light switches, etc.
- Wipe desktops, countertops, sinks and kitchen areas.
- Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
- Distribute paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in washrooms.
- Maintain an inventory of sanitary and janitorial supplies.
- Performs all other duties as required by management and supervisors.
- Complies with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Experience cleaning within manufacturing environments (shop floors and offices).
- Knowledge of safe chemical and solvent-handling practices.
- Experience operating a floor cleaner or willing to learn.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to complete daily cleaning tasks.
- Physical requirements include the ability to perform activities which include pulling, pushing, lifting, and/or moving objects. Additionally the job will require activities including standing, climbing, kneeling, and bending.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and management effectively.
