Wage: $21.44 to $26.79 per hours, plus benefits
The Human Resource Coordinator is accountable for assigned human resource functions, ensuring they comply with legislation and the organization’s mission, vision, and policies and procedures pertaining to all employees.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Planning and coordinating recruitment activities for staff, students and volunteers, including preparing job postings, conducting interviews and reference checks and onboarding
- Planning, coordinating and facilitating orientation and on-going training for staff, students and volunteers
- Organize and maintain the agency's volunteer and student database
- Providing technical human resources management services (HRMS)
- Maintaining personnel records both electronically (via ADP WFN) and paper-based
- Provide general clerical and administrative support, compose and deliver correspondence related to HR programs and activities
- Create and maintain technical reports and statistical reports pertaining to recruitment, volunteers and other HR reported activities
- Capable of handling a diverse workload in a busy environment, able to meet multiple and simultaneous deadlines, and perform equally well individually and as part of a team
- Provide back-up support to Scheduler as required, including performing full scheduling duties to cover time away
- Responsible for ensuring work is performed in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, and the agency's health and safety policies and procedures as amended
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
- University degree or college diploma in Human Resources Management, or a related field that includes specialization or additional course work in Human Resources
- Acquired or working towards the completion of CHRP/CHRL considered an asset
- Must have minimum two (2) years of related experience that includes recruitment, volunteer coordination, training, HRIS management and other human resource related functions
- Must be able to exercise good judgment, professionalism and diplomacy, and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information, records and reports
- A good understanding of the Ontario Employment Standards Act, the Ontario Human Rights Act, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, specifically with Excel and Powerpoint
- Experience using ADP WFN a strong asset
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to maintain partnerships with other organizations in an independent, self-directed capacity
- Must be committed to updating job knowledge by participating in professional development opportunities
