Cortina 64 is looking for someone who wants to make things happen.
We're a busy Italian restaurant and event venue in Sudbury with a large dining room, a 130 person event space, and a lot of room to grow. We're looking for a creative, outgoing, self motivated person to take ownership of our events, entertainment, and social media marketing.
This isn't a job where we'll hand you a list of posts to make every week.
We want you to look at Cortina 64 and think:
"What can we do here?"
Then make it happen.
The Job
Your main goal will be to keep Cortina 64 active, interesting, and talked about.
You'll be responsible for creating a steady calendar of events and making sure people actually know about them.
That could mean:
- Booking live musicians
- Organizing comedy nights
- Creating trivia or game nights
- Developing themed dinners and special events
- Planning holiday and seasonal events
- Organizing wine, beer, or food-focused events
- Bringing in DJs or other entertainment
- Creating unique events that haven't been done before
- Finding opportunities to host fundraisers and community events
- Helping bring in corporate parties and private bookings
- Building relationships with local businesses, entertainers, and organizations
You'll also be responsible for getting people excited about these events.
Social Media & Marketing
You'll take ownership of Cortina 64's social media presence across platforms such as:
You'll create photos, videos, reels, stories, event announcements, promotional campaigns, and other content that makes people want to come through the door.
You don't need to be a professional photographer or videographer. You do need to understand what makes good social media content and be comfortable picking up a phone and creating it.
You'll also have the opportunity to experiment with different ideas and see what actually works.
You'll Have a Lot of Freedom
This position is being created because we want someone who can own this area of the business.
You won't need to ask permission to have an idea.
Have an idea for a Friday night event? Pitch it.
Think a certain local musician would be a great fit? Reach out to them.
See something another restaurant is doing that you think we could improve on? Bring it to us.
Think we should be doing something completely different? We want to hear it.
We'll provide the restaurant, the space, the support, and the resources.
We need you to bring the ideas and the energy.
What We're Looking For
We're less concerned about your exact education or job title and more interested in what you're capable of.
You could be a great fit if you're:
- Creative and constantly coming up with ideas
- Extremely organized
- Comfortable talking to almost anyone
- Confident reaching out to businesses, entertainers, and organizations
- Social-media savvy
- Comfortable creating photo/video content
- A strong communicator
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Someone who notices opportunities instead of waiting for instructions
- Interested in music, food, entertainment, events, or the local community
- Comfortable working some evenings and weekends
Experience in marketing, hospitality, event planning, social media, or communications is an asset, but personality, creativity, and initiative matter more.
Experience with Canva, Meta Business Suite, photography/video, paid advertising, or event promotion is also an asset.
What Success Looks Like
We want to see Cortina 64 become a place where people regularly ask:
"What's going on at Cortina this weekend?"
You'll help us build a consistent event calendar, increase awareness of the restaurant, grow our social media presence, bring more people through the doors, and increase private and group bookings.
We'll look at things like:
- Number and quality of events organized
- Event attendance
- Event revenue
- Private bookings generated
- Social media growth and engagement
- Marketing performance
- New partnerships and opportunities created
Compensation
Competitive hourly compensation based on experience, with the opportunity for performance based incentives as the events program grows.
We're open to discussing the right compensation structure with the right person.
