Job Summary
We are seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our growing team. We are looking to hire a licensed carpenter, a carpentry apprentice, or those looking to expand their knowledge in the skilled trades. Buckthorn Building Co. will also consider summer student applications.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the construction of custom homes and renovation projects
- Perform a variety of carpentry tasks, including framing, finishing, siding, and general construction
- Read and follow plans, measurements, and specifications
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite
- Work independently and collaboratively with team members and subcontractors
- Report to work on time, on a daily basis
Qualifications
- Licensed carpenter, registered apprentice, or relevant construction experience preferred
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Positive attitude and attention to detail
- Reliable transportation to shop in Minden
- Ability to lift and carry construction materials, up to 50 lbs, and work in a physically demanding environment
- Experience in residential construction is considered an asset
