The Opportunity
Newlands Group is partnering with a growing organization to hire an Accounting Manager.
This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys both managing day-to-day financial operations and contributing to month-end reporting, analysis, and process improvements. You will play a key role in supporting financial accuracy, team leadership, and overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Month-End

Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements

Perform account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial statement review

Prepare supporting schedules and journal entries

Analyze financial results and provide insights on trends and variances
Operations & Oversight

Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and inventory

Monitor spending levels and identify financial trends or risks

Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple entities

Support consolidation processes to ensure accurate and consistent reporting
Cash Flow & Compliance

Monitor cash balances and support cash flow forecasting

Assist with banking requirements, including debt covenant reporting

Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements

Support audit processes and liaise with external stakeholders as needed
Leadership & Team Management

Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to the accounting team

Assist with performance management, training, and development of staff

Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance team environment
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

CPA designation or actively working toward CPA (required)

3–6+ years of relevant accounting experience

Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting

Experience with multi-entity and/or multi-currency environments is an asset

Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally

Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
