Primary Activities and Responsibilities:

Ensure all repair procedures and requirements are followed, per FRA & AAR procedures, while ensuring compliance with all XRC policies, regulations, and maintenance procedures.
Perform various physical tasks as assigned.
Move, secure, install, build, load, or unload materials.
Perform specialized tasks which may require on-the job training.
Operate heavy and light equipment effectively, depending on the jobsite/assignment.
Transport tools, equipment, or other material as directed by supervisor.
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

Work Hours:

General work hours are Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Rail Car Helper Qualifications/Skills:

1-3 years of railcar repair experience with a working knowledge of the AAR Field Manual an asset.
Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
Attentive to detail and consistently alert to ensure safety.
Capable of following instructions and communicating with co-workers.
Welding skills are an asset.
Oxygen/acetylene torch cutting skills are an asset.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
