About Us
The Great Canadian Poutinerie is a locally owned Ottawa restaurant focused on serving high quality poutine made with fresh cut fries, real cheese curds, and hot gravy. We take pride in providing excellent food, a clean environment, and outstanding customer service.
Position Overview
The Prep Cook plays an important role in supporting daily kitchen operations. This position is responsible for preparing ingredients, stocking stations, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting the team during service.
At TGCP, every team member contributes to food quality, cleanliness, speed of service, and creating a great experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients according to TGCP recipes and standards
- Portion meats, cheeses, sauces, and toppings
- Label, date, rotate, and properly store products
- Keep stations stocked and organized throughout the shift
- Complete cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Follow food safety procedures at all times
- Assist with food assembly and service when required
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Communicate inventory shortages or quality concerns to leadership
- Follow all company policies and procedures
Schedule
Shift times may vary based on business needs.
Common shifts include:
- 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Closing shifts may extend beyond the scheduled end time until all assigned cleaning, stocking, and closing duties have been completed.

Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in a kitchen environment
- Previous kitchen experience is an asset but not required
