The Position at a Glance:
We are seeking a highly analytical and motivated individual to join our team. As the Engineering Technologist reporting to the Development Engineering Supervisor, you are responsible for the design, tendering and project management of capital and operational infrastructure renewal/maintenance projects (watermain, sewer, bridges, roads, etc.). You will provide technical reviews and construction services support related to development applications/construction, as well as support the Operations department.
What You'll Do:
- Complete design and associated design drawings to facilitate the tendering and construction of infrastructure and operational projects.
- Prepare construction drawings, contract documents and specifications to carry out the design and project needs.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents for the annual fleet renewal.
- Oversee, manage, and inspect capital and operational contracts.
- Conduct inspections to ensure work is completed to specifications and current standards.
- Oversee and manage projects that are designed and tendered by Consultant Engineers on behalf of the Town.
- Provide support in the development application process.
- Review proposed development applications and designs.
What You Bring to the Role:
Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline. Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or Certified Technician designation from the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) is an asset.

- Problem Solving and Decision Making: You are passionate about solving problems, uncovering root causes, and proactively finding solutions to achieve organizational and departmental goals. You exhibit a strong understanding of corporate governance issues and the political environment in which you make decisions.
- Project Management: You have experience prioritizing and managing competing high priority projects. You can plan, prioritize, and execute projects from ideation to completion.
A valid Class "G" Driver's License is a requirement for this role.
What We Offer You:
- Salary: $88,426 to $100,484 per year (depending on skills and experience)
- Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
