Inventory Analyst

Full-time, permanent | Monday to Friday

About the Role

Trux Accessories is looking for a highly analytical Inventory Analyst to join our team in Laval. Inventory availability and visibility are critical to our growth, and this role will provide the analysis and reporting needed to support timely decisions. You will own inventory analysis across Laval and our 3PL, perform detailed backorder analysis, monitor replenishment and min/max levels by SKU, and maintain clear visibility of open purchase orders and expected availability.

You will work closely with Purchasing, Operations, Sales, and our 3PL partners to turn data into clear action plans. A key part of the role is providing regular status updates on major customer orders and backorders, identifying shortages and risks early, and following open purchase orders with Purchasing through to receipt. This is a data-intensive role requiring strong Power BI, advanced Excel, and the ability to build meaningful reporting and analysis for management.

Key Responsibilities

Own inventory analysis and reporting across Laval and 3PL warehouse locations, providing a consolidated view of inventory availability, shortages, risks, and required actions.
Perform full backorder analysis by SKU, customer, order, warehouse, and expected receipt date; identify the reason for each backorder and convert it into a clear action plan and expected resolution date.
Provide regular status updates on major customer orders and backorders, including inventory available, inventory location, open purchase orders, expected receipts, allocation requirements, risks, and next actions.
Maintain and improve Power BI dashboards for inventory, backorders, open purchase orders, replenishment, customer commitments, inventory movement, and other key inventory KPIs.
Use Power BI, Excel, SAP, and WMS data to identify trends, exceptions, shortages, excess inventory, data inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Monitor and maintain inventory visibility across Laval and 3PL locations, including stock status, replenishment requirements, transfers, holds, and inventory requiring investigation.
Manage and review min/max levels and replenishment parameters by SKU, including regular updates based on demand, lead time, service requirements, and inventory movement.
Monitor open purchase orders and incoming inventory against backorders, forecasts, and customer commitments; work closely with Purchasing to obtain updated ETAs, follow overdue POs, and escalate supply risks.
Recommend inventory allocations and inter-warehouse transfers when available or incoming supply is below committed demand.
Own and ensure completion of the cycle-count program across Laval and 3PL locations, including count scheduling and follow-up. Review and validate cycle-count results, investigate inventory discrepancies with Operations and the 3PL, and track corrective actions through resolution.
Develop clear recurring inventory and backorder reporting for management, Purchasing, Operations, and Sales, with emphasis on exceptions, priorities, actions, owners, and expected completion dates.
Proactively identify potential customer-impacting shortages before they escalate and communicate recommended actions to the appropriate teams.

Qualifications & Skills

Strong Power BI skills are required, including the ability to build, maintain, and improve dashboards and translate data into actionable business insights.
Advanced Excel skills are required, including strong capability with large data sets, lookups, pivot tables, formulas, and analytical reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes, prioritize exceptions, and clearly recommend actions.
Strong communication skills and the ability to provide concise, accurate status updates to Sales, Purchasing, Operations, and management.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of follow-up through resolution.
