Full job description

GENERAL CARPENTER TEAM LEAD

We are hiring an experienced General Carpenter Team Lead to lead crews and deliver high-quality residential and commercial renovation work.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a strong carpenter who can build, problem-solve, and set the standard on site. You will be responsible for leading daily field operations while actively participating in the work, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of workmanship.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Lead and work alongside carpenters, apprentices, and labourers on active job sites
Plan, assign, and coordinate daily work to keep projects on schedule
Perform a wide range of carpentry work including framing, structural modifications, renovations, and general construction
Complete doors, windows, trim, millwork, backing, blocking, and finishing carpentry as required
Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents
Coordinate with Project Managers and subcontractors to maintain workflow and site progress
Identify and solve site issues quickly to avoid delays and rework
Ensure work is completed safely, cleanly, and to company quality standards
Support project closeout, deficiency completion, and site turnover
Train and mentor apprentices and less experienced team members

WHAT WE EXPECT

5+ years of carpentry experience in residential and/or commercial construction
Previous experience leading crews or acting as a lead hand
Strong knowledge of framing, renovations, and general construction methods
Ability to read drawings and execute work with accuracy
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt on site
Ability to manage multiple tasks while keeping work on schedule
Strong communication and leadership presence
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
