[location] is looking for an Apprentice Service Technician!

Full-Time, Permanent • Medicine Hat, Alberta •

About us:

We have been part of the Straightline family since 2019 and have grown into one of the most active dealerships in Medicine Hat and one of Alberta's largest pre-owned vehicle operations. We operate out of a modern, purpose-built facility on Paul Stober Drive SE, and we were Canada's first small-city Kia EV dealership — which means our parts and service departments are working on the newest technology Kia builds, not just the back catalogue.

The way we sell is the way we operate internally: straight up, transparent, and without games. We leave the window stickers on. We show our pricing. We expect the same honesty from our managers, and we give them the room to run their departments accordingly. Straightline Kia Medicine Hat is an AMVIC-licensed business.

Job Duties:

Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing vehicle issues and performing repairs.
Learn to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems and recommend solutions.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements.
Learn to inspect and test vehicles to ensure functionality and safety.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines when handling tools and equipment.
Learn to document work performed and maintain accurate records.
Attend training sessions and classes to further develop technical skills and knowledge.
Assist in delivering vehicles to customers and providing basic instruction on vehicle maintenance.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman and/or Service Manager.

Successful Candidates Possess:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Enrolled or completed a vocational or technical training program in automotive technology is preferred.
Basic knowledge of automotive systems and maintenance procedures is preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical ability to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy objects (up to [X] lbs), as well as standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
Service Technician License Apprenticeship Program registration.
