Job Overview

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards. This role demands efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Line Cook is essential to smooth kitchen operations and contributes directly to delivering an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Compensation:

Job Type: Flexible Full-Time

Pay: Experience dependent

Expected hours: 30-35 per week

Qualifications

Previous experience as a line cook or in a professional kitchen setting.
Valid and up-to-date Food Safe certification, needs to be sent before start date.
Solid understanding of cooking techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen equipment.
Ability to accurately follow recipes and ensure consistency in food preparation
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Proven ability to perform efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and a passion for delivering quality food.
Physically capable of standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a hot kitchen environment.
Collaborative team player with strong communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and kitchen standards
Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and meets quality and presentation expectations
Efficiently manage assigned station, including grilling, frying, sautéing, and plating dishes
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely order completion
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Assist with ingredient preparation and help maintain appropriate stock levels of kitchen supplies
Monitor food storage and rotation to ensure freshness and minimize waste
Adhere to portion control standards to maintain consistency and reduce food waste
Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate orders and service timing
Support with receiving and organizing deliveries as needed
Comply with all health and safety regulations at all time.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef or line lead

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
Capable of lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Willingness to work in environments with varying noise levels, dust exposure, and temperature fluctuations based on work area.
