Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Electrician to join our Maintenance team. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing industrial electrical systems and associated electronic controls to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our production equipment.

Working closely with the Maintenance team and plant personnel, the successful candidate will help maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives within our manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

· Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical equipment and systems.

· Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic control systems, including PLC-controlled equipment.

· Monitor and maintain the plant's electrical distribution systems to ensure reliable operation.

· Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.

· Install conduit, wiring, and electrical components in accordance with applicable electrical codes and company standards.

· Troubleshoot electrical control systems, including ladder logic and PLCs, and assist with program modifications as required.

· Prepare sketches, estimates, and recommendations for electrical installations, upgrades, and repairs.

· Perform preventative maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize production interruptions.

· Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repairs, including participation in an on-call rotation as required.

· Work collaboratively with production and maintenance personnel to complete repairs safely and efficiently.

· Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete reports in a timely manner.

· Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company safety policies and applicable electrical codes.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess one of the following:

A valid Industrial Electrician License with a minimum of five (5) years of industrial electrical experience; or
A Journeyman Industrial Control Technologist designation with PLC specialization and a minimum of three (3) years of industrial electrical and electronic experience.

Additional qualifications include:

Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment is considered a strong asset.
Proficiency with computers and industrial control software.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
Willingness to participate in training and professional development opportunities.
Availability to work assigned shifts, overtime, and on-call rotations as required. Shifts may range from 8 to 12 hours depending on operational requirements.
Willingness and ability to travel within Canada and internationally, when required.
Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Working Conditions:

This position is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, squat, and climb for extended periods. The role involves working around operating production equipment and may include lifting and maneuvering electrical components and tools. Duties may also require working at heights and in confined spaces, depending on operational needs. The environment can include exposure to varying temperatures and elevated noise levels during production. In addition, the successful candidate must be comfortable safely disassembling and reassembling equipment as part of repair and maintenance activities.
