SCOPE
Reporting to the Manager, Student Academic Services with a dotted line to the Manager of Quebec Recruitment, Office of Student Recruitment, the incumbent participates in the development, planning, preparation and implementation of recruitment and retention strategies of the Faculty of Arts and Science for undergraduate students at local, provincial, national and international levels.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review and update the strategic recruitment plan and establish priorities, as appropriate, in collaboration with the Director and the Manager, Student Academic as well as the University’s Office of Student Recruitment.
• Work in collaboration with the University’s Office of Student Recruitment using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to plan, coordinate, and track undergraduate recruitment activities at the local, national, and international levels.
• Organize and participate in recruitment initiatives such as education fairs, on-campus off-campus and virtual information sessions, English and French CEGEP/High School campus visits; joint undergraduate recruitment activities including La tournée universitaire, and CEGEP Advisor engagement days. Respond to prospective student inquiries via in-person, telephone, and email channels. Undertake and/or participate in recruitment trips in Quebec and North America.
• Organize and coordinate the Open House activities of the Faculty at the undergraduate level and collaborate with the Graduate Student Recruitment Officer.
• Collaborate with the Faculty Advisors and Undergraduate/ Program Directors of the Faculty to provide potential students with accurate information about the programs requirements and advise departments on appropriate recruitment options and strategies
• Provide academic advising to current Independent, Certificate, Microprogram, Change of Concentration, and Internal Degree Transfer students, guiding their transition into full degree programs within the Faculty.
• Use Concordia’s Student Information System (SIS), Concordia’s Applications, Admits, Confirmations, Registrations (AACR) Report, to track admission statistics and liaise between departments conducting application reviews and the Admissions Office to ensure timely decisions are provided to applicants.
• Report on recruitment activities, including research and assessment of potential sources of future students, evaluating the effectiveness of current activities and suggest changes or new initiatives.
• Participate in the development and production of online and traditional recruitment marketing and informational publications.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in a field pertinent to the primary responsibilities and two to four years of work experience in student recruitment, public relations or marketing.
• Familiarity with educational systems as well as knowledge of undergraduate admissions requirements and academic regulations policies and procedures is an asset.
• Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written English and French in order to inform, advise, communicate and correspond with students, faculty, staff and external organizations (e.g., CEGEPS, Schools, media), and to develop or assist in the development of promotional materials. Knowledge of another language other than French and English is an asset.
• Good knowledge (Intermediate Level) of Word (to create and update documents), Excel (to create and update spreadsheets), and PowerPoint (to create and update presentations).
• Familiarity with Concordia’s Student Information System (SIS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) desirable.
• Ability to work with Social media platforms.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills to interact effectively with students their parents, guardians or supporters, staff, faculty and external contacts. Excellent presentation skills; to give presentation to groups of potential students and their parents, faculty, or external organizations.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment as well as autonomously.
• Ability to travel extensively and to work flexible hours.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and passport.
