Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Panel Shop Technician to join our team. This role involves assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels according to schematics and specifications. The ideal candidate has strong technical abilities, a commitment to quality, and enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble and wire electrical control panels and enclosures
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and layouts
Mount components such as PLCs, relays, terminals, and circuit breakers
Perform point-to-point wiring and labeling
Conduct quality checks and testing to ensure functionality and compliance
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Follow safety standards and company procedures
Collaborate with engineers and project teams as needed

Qualifications

Experience in panel building or electrical assembly (preferred)
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
Basic knowledge of electrical systems and components
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills

Experience with industrial control panels or automation systems
Knowledge of PLC wiring and layout
Understanding of CSA/UL standards (or equivalent)
Electrical certification or relevant training (an asset)
