Hughes Intelligence has proudly served Sarnia-Lambton and surrounding communities since 1994. We are currently hiring Full-Time and Part-Time Security Guards for assignments primarily in Petrolia, Ontario.
Our work in the Petrolia area involves providing one-to-one security support in Long-Term Care homes, where our Security Guards play an important role in helping maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Hughes Intelligence also provides security services in Long-Term Care, industrial, commercial, retail, and special event settings throughout Sarnia-Lambton and surrounding areas. While this position is being advertised for Petrolia, successful candidates may also be scheduled at client locations in Sarnia and surrounding communities based on operational needs.

Availability Requirements – Please Read Before Applying
We are hiring for both Full-Time and Part-Time positions.
Whether applying for Full-Time or Part-Time employment, applicants must have regular availability to be scheduled on:
Applicants must also be flexible with their shift availability. Depending on client needs, you may be scheduled for day, afternoon, or night shifts.
Scheduling and hours are based on client and operational needs. Typical shifts range from 8 to 12 hours, although shift lengths may vary by assignment.
Full-Time applicants should have broad availability throughout the week in addition to the required Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability.
Part-Time applicants must maintain regular Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability and be able to work a variety of shift times based on client needs.

Having these documents ready may allow successful candidates to begin Long-Term Care assignments sooner.

Security Guard Responsibilities
- Provide professional security services at Long-Term Care homes and other client locations.
- Provide one-to-one security support for Long-Term Care residents who require additional supervision.
- Help maintain the safety and security of residents, staff, visitors, and property.
- Conduct patrols and monitor access control where required.
- Monitor surveillance and alarm systems where applicable.
- Respond professionally to incidents and emergencies.
- Complete accurate shift reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Follow and enforce client policies, post orders, and site procedures.
- Assist with screening procedures when required.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional appearance and attitude.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR certification (Red Cross or equivalent).
- Valid driver's licence.
- Reliable transportation to travel to assigned client sites.
- Ability to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check for Long-Term Care assignments.
- Recent TB testing or willingness to complete required TB testing before working in Long-Term Care.
- Ability and willingness to travel to assignments in Petrolia, Sarnia, and surrounding areas as operationally required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Regular availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
- Flexibility to work days, afternoons, and nights based on client needs.
Preferred Qualifications
The following experience is considered an asset:
- Previous Security Guard experience.
- Experience working in Long-Term Care, healthcare, hospitals, retirement homes, or with seniors.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check issued within the last six months.
- Current TB testing required for Long-Term Care work.
Training
Successful candidates will receive required Long-Term Care training before beginning Long-Term Care assignments.
