Full job description

Our client is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Specialist. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced payroll environment and enjoys contributing to a collaborative, fun, and supportive team culture. You will play a key role in managing Canadian and US payroll operations and overseeing benefits administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless processes across multiple jurisdictions.

This is an opportunity to apply your expertise in multi-province and multi-country payroll, support key transitions, and maintain high-quality financial operations.

Responsibilities:

Manage Canadian payroll for up to ~500 employees
Manage US payroll for a small employee group
Oversee benefits administration, Canadian pension plans, and the US 401(k), including invoice reconciliation and remittances
Conduct payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
Partner closely with internal HR and the managed service provider for payroll
Learn and execute complex payroll processes with efficiency, particularly those involving multi-province and multi-country requirements

Qualifications:

5+ years of full cycle, multi-provincial payroll experience (US payroll experience a significant asset)
PCP preferred
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Excellent communication skills and a personable, professional approach
