About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and organized Health & Safety Assistant to support our safety program and administrative operations. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about maintaining safe work environments across office, shop, and field operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Administration & Documentation

File, organize, and maintain health and safety records and documentation.
Assist in developing, updating, and formatting safety policies, procedures, and manuals.
Prepare and distribute safety forms, checklists, and compliance documents.
Set up and coordinate employee orientations and training records.

Field & Site Support

Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Assist with incident investigations and follow-up actions.
Complete shop inspections and identify potential hazards.
Support supervisors and workers with safety-related inquiries and documentation.

Office & Operational Support

Manage filing systems and general office paperwork related to health and safety.
Order and maintain inventory of health and safety supplies and equipment.
Assist with WSIB claims administration and documentation.
Coordinate scheduling and tracking of safety training and certifications.

Qualifications

Previous experience in health and safety administration, office administration, or a related role.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to communicate effectively with workers, supervisors, and management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Knowledge of Ontario health and safety regulations and WSIB processes is an asset.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
