Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatrician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring their health and well-being through expert diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, utilizing advanced electronic health record systems and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care. Experience in hospital settings, research, and acute care is highly valued. The Pediatrician will play a key role in managing patient care plans, administering medications, and supporting families through education and home care guidance.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough examinations and assessments of pediatric patients to diagnose health conditions.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's needs.
Administer medications and oversee pain management strategies effectively.
Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic and Cerner for accurate documentation and data collection.
Coordinate with specialists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Provide education to families regarding health maintenance, medication administration, and home care procedures.
Monitor patient progress during follow-up visits and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Stay current with pediatric medical research and best practices to enhance patient outcomes.
Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, medical terminology standards, and safety regulations.

Qualifications

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution with valid licensure in the state of practice.
Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics in Alberta
Proven experience in hospital settings, acute care, or research related to pediatrics is preferred.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, pain management, and patient care procedures.
Experience working with electronic health records such as Epic and Cerner systems.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients’ families and healthcare teams.
Background in medical office operations, data collection, and home care services is advantageous.
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams dedicated to pediatric health.
