At Exchanger Industries, we engineer and build custom heat transfer equipment that ends up in some of the most demanding industrial projects in the world. We're Alberta-born, globally recognized, and every vessel we ship is built to spec, to code, and to last.

This role sits at the centre of that work.

Great procurement in custom manufacturing takes a rare mix: the technical chops to read a fabrication drawing and confirm ASME Code conformance, and the people skills to build supplier relationships that hold up when a deadline is on the line.

About the team

You won't be doing this alone. The Supply Chain team here is the kind of group that picks up each other's calls, shares what they know instead of guarding it, and stays calm when a project gets tight. New people tell us the same thing in their first few weeks: they expected the role to be hard and were surprised by how easy the team made it to ramp up. That's the part we're quietly proud of.

What you'll own

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain, you'll run project purchasing end to end — and act as the link between our suppliers and nearly every internal team.

Turn requirements into purchase orders, then place, monitor, and expedite them to the master schedule
Read fabrication drawings, cross-check them against the BOM, and confirm ASME Code details with Engineering
RFQ and purchase BOM items on conformance, price, and lead time
Develop and qualify new suppliers; strengthen and diversify the relationships we already have
Verify what arrives against what we ordered, and resolve any shipment errors with suppliers
Partner daily with Project Management, Sales, Engineering, Drafting, Production, and Finance

What you bring

10+ years of procurement in heavy industry or custom manufacturing (pressure vessel / structural is a big plus)
The ability to read technical drawings and tie them to ASME Code
Genuinely strong communication and the kind of instinct that makes vendors want to work with us
Solid ERP skills (Microsoft Dynamics a plus) and Microsoft Office proficiency
A university degree or technical diploma in a related field
PMAC or APICS designation considered an asset

Hybrid: ~4 days/week in our Calgary
Periodic travel to suppliers
Fast-paced — you'll juggle several time-sensitive projects at once
