Full job description

Durum Services Inc. is a multi-faceted company servicing clients in the utility and construction industry. Durum is currently seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and energetic person to fill the position of 20 Ton Tandem Dump and Tag Truck Driver in the Amherst area. This is a full-time seasonal position with an estimated hours 50 plus per week.

Qualifications & Skills

MUST have a valid Class 1 or 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement and the ability to drive standard transmission trucks.
MUST have a clean drivers abstract.
MUST have 2 years experience operating a tandem dump truck.
Tractor trailer float and/or tandem tag trailer experience would be considered an asset.
Condition 15 endorsement would be considered an asset.
Must have a strong industry knowledge of proper loading and securement techniques.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to safety.
Availability to work flexible and extended hours if required.
Capable of performing physically demanding work at times.
Heavy equipment operating experience would be considered an asset.
Valid First Aid, CPR, and WHMIS would be an asset.

Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct and document daily pre-trip, in-route, and post trip inspections.
Promptly report any mechanical issues to direct supervisor and/or mechanic for repair.
Complete all required paperwork - drivers logbook, inspection, trip, and maintenance reports.
Always operate the truck in safe, secure, and responsible manner.
Keep truck and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
Weekly greasing and washing of truck is required.
Preform routine preventative maintenance as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
