Founded in 1996 and having its head office in Northern New Brunswick, Canada, Design Built Mechanical Inc. (DBM) is a mechanical contracting company, working in the design, installation and management of institutional, commercials, industrial and biotechnological projects. DBM specializes in environmental performance as well as the design and manufacturing of custom equipment. With a vast experience in environmental applications, the company is involved in the responsible management of household waste, wastewater treatment and septic services.
Job Summary
The main function for this postion is to lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair piping systems carrying water, steam, chemicals and fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating and other process piping systems.
Responsibilities
- Reading Plans: Read and interpret complex drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan pipe layouts.
- Fabricating and Assembling: Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, weld, braze, and solder metal, plastic, and fiberglass pipes.
- Installing Systems: Mount and secure pipes, valves, supports, and control equipment using hand and power tools.
- Testing and Inspecting: Test completed piping systems for leaks and proper operations using air or liquid pressure equipment.
- Maintaining and Repairing: Remove and replace worn components, flush systems, and perform preventative maintenance
Requirements
- Certification: Valid New Brunswick Certificate of Qualification as a Steamfitter/Pipefitter (compulsory certification trade in NB).
- Designation: Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement (RSE).
- Education: Completion of secondary (high) school is typically required.
- Experience: Completion of a recognized 4- to 5-year provincial apprenticeship program (7,200 total hours) OR an equivalent combination of over 5 years of direct industrial/commercial work experience and industry courses.
- Licensing: Ability to obtain a provincial Steamfitter-pipefitter licence via the Government of New Brunswick technical inspection authorities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence to make critical production-related decisions quickly.
- Ability to respond to changing production demands or unforeseen challenges.
- Capable of managing schedules and resources effectively.
- Positive Safety behavior and safety leadership.
Work Conditions
- Monday to Friday
- Hours may vary as per project peak times
- Weekends (may have to work in the evening or on weekends occasionally for building opening and/or emergencies on construction sites)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $36.00-$42.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
