We are seeking a Technical Publications Manager to lead and evolve our technical documentation function. This role combines technical understanding, strategic planning, process improvement, and team leadership to ensure the delivery of accurate, effective, and scalable documentation.
As the leader of the Technical Publications team, you will be responsible for developing the vision, processes, technologies, and team capabilities required to support Tigercat's expanding product range and global customer base. You will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Product Support to ensure our publications meet the needs of operators, technicians, dealers, and customers worldwide.

Job Duties
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technical writers, illustrators, and documentation specialists.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement by providing coaching, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
- Manage team workloads, priorities, resources, and project assignments to ensure successful execution and delivery of publications.
- Provide strategic leadership for the Technical Publications function by establishing the vision, processes, technologies, and long-term strategy required to support product development, customer support, serviceability, organizational objectives, and business growth.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics and reporting processes to measure documentation quality, efficiency, content reuse, publication timelines, and overall departmental effectiveness.
- Use data, performance metrics, and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement initiatives and provide recommendations and updates to senior leadership.
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and delivery of operator's manuals, service manuals, parts catalogs, machine labeling artwork, safety information, technical bulletins, digital content, and related technical documentation across the full product portfolio.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, consistent, user-focused, and aligned with current product configurations.
- Drive improvements in documentation structure, usability, accessibility, information architecture, content reuse, and delivery formats to improve consistency, reduce duplication, and accelerate publication cycles.
- Establish and maintain documentation change management processes to ensure publications remain synchronized with engineering revisions, manufacturing changes, product improvements, and evolving service requirements.
- Lead the evaluation, implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of documentation tools, workflows, content management systems, publishing platforms, illustration software, and related technologies to identify gaps, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement.
- Modernize documentation processes through structured authoring, workflow automation, content reuse, digital publishing initiatives, and digital-first delivery methods, including mobile, interactive, and connected-content solutions.
- Establish and maintain documentation standards, publishing policies, and quality assurance processes to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, completeness, and quality across all published materials.
- Ensure all technical publications meet applicable regulatory, safety, compliance, and product liability requirements, including the effective communication of safety-critical information, warnings, cautions, and operating procedures.
- Support customer experience initiatives by delivering documentation that enhances equipment operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and serviceability.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams, projects, or cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, industrial, heavy equipment, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
- Ability to interpret technical information, engineering drawings, service procedures, and product documentation requirements.
- Proficiency with modern documentation platforms, content management systems, publishing tools, and illustration software.
- Experience with structured authoring, content reuse strategies, and technical publishing workflows.
- Familiarity with digital content delivery methods, interactive documentation, and documentation lifecycle management.
- Experience developing documentation processes, standards, workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication, coaching, collaboration, and change management skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
Education and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical writing, technical communications, technical documentation management, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Technical Communication, Engineering, Information Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and relevant industry experience will be considered.
- Experience with Paligo CMS, Adobe InDesign, and SolidWorks Composer is considered an asset.
