Full job description

Otter Trail Winery is seeking a friendly, organized, and hardworking Host/Busser to join our hospitality team. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while supporting the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional service.

This position includes regular restaurant service as well as weekend weddings, private events, and winery functions. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and available to work evenings and weekends throughout the season.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and provide a positive first impression of the winery.
Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating efficiently.
Assist with answering guest inquiries in person and over the phone.
Reset and prepare tables quickly and thoroughly between guests.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, patio, washrooms, and service areas.
Assist servers and bartenders with water service, food running, clearing tables, and guest support as needed.
Support weddings, corporate events, private functions, and winery events, including setup, guest assistance, clearing, and event service support.
Monitor guest flow and communicate effectively with the front-of-house team.
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, winery, hospitality, customer service, or event setting is an asset.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Friendly, professional, and positive attitude.
Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to assist wherever needed.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Availability to work weekends is required, as the role includes regular participation in weddings, special events, and private functions throughout the season.
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
