Full job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Meat Wrapper to join our team in Calgary, Alberta! If you take pride in excellent product presentation, are passionate about delivering top-notch customer service, and thrive in a dynamic retail environment, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

As a Meat Wrapper, you'll play a crucial role in the presentation, freshness, and overall operation of our meat department. Your duties will include:

Efficiently weighing, wrapping, labeling, and pricing various cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood according to company standards.
Stocking and maintaining attractive, fully filled, and organized meat displays, ensuring proper product rotation (FIFO) and freshness.
Greeting and assisting customers with their selections, answering questions cheerfully, and taking special orders.
Checking product labels for accuracy, monitoring expiration dates, and ensuring only the highest quality products reach the display case.
Adhering strictly to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations by keeping wrapping stations, scales, and counters spotlessly clean.
Assisting Meat Cutters with counter setup, helping with inventory management, receiving orders, and performing other duties as assigned to support store operations.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a grocery meat department, deli, or similar retail environment is an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate!
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math skills for weighing, pricing, and inventory tracking.
Strong understanding of (or willingness to learn) food safety and sanitation procedures.
Ability to stand for extended periods and comfortably lift/carry up to 40–50 lbs in a cold environment.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
