Panelflex Ltd. is actively recruiting for a Production Forman/woman with specific experience within a high-volume electrical control panel production facility. This role requires leadership, manufacturing & electrical knowledge to build, lead and train a team of people to produce custom control panel assemblies. This individual will ensure product maintains the highest standards of quality and consistency. This will be a hands-on individual capable of overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations including LEAN production, scheduling, training & recruitment, shop Kan Ban & small tool purchases, inventory management, resource planning, on-time shipment responsibility, have input on processes improvement and quality control and safety. In addition, this position is responsible for supporting financial, customer, quality, and employee objectives by maintaining manufacturing timelines, developing/implementing plans to enhance productivity, supporting cost improvement objectives, and nurturing employee development. This individual is expected to Oversee and carry out all manufacturing operations at the plant Manage, shop production, including QA/QC, shipping / receiving and engraving Review electrical construction packages to assess complexity and assign to the appropriate skilled employees Ensure safety and quality standards are maintained as well as inventory management Employ proper operating, cleaning, and preventative maintenance procedures as well as ensuring standard operating procedures are met provide onboarding of new employees, training and cross-training of production employees Attend Project Manager meetings for production updates Attend Heath & Safety meetings. Be responsible for product QA testing & documentation Maintain & update production schedules and the recruitment of skilled Responsible for inventory and quality assurance procedures Drive the implementation within the department of key corporate initiatives including Lean Manufacturing and Environment, Health & Safety. *The position will report to the Ownership Team.* Educational Qualification. Work Experience The candidates should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience, including supervisory experience Experience in a manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications 2+ years experience with electrical controls assembly / manufacturing 2+ years in a similar role or function Duties/Responsibilities Experience / knowledge of quality procedures and work instructions and actively participate in the quality improvement process. Analyze department capacity restrictions and develop alternative plans to improve methods and layouts, as well as recommend new equipment expenditures to align capacity with plant objectives. Direct the development and implementation of cost, productivity, and strategic manufacturing programs consistent with plant objectives. Effectively manage the departmental budget, including the tracking of all capital equipment. Identify metrics for key business drivers and reinforce knowledge of them throughout the assembly operation. Implement process improvement, cost reduction, and quality improvement processes Maintain departmental tooling and equipment, including the provision of new/replacement hand tools, etc. Manage department manpower and capacity planning. Partner with Ownership team on recruitment (assessment and selection) for entry-level openings and promotional opportunities within the department. Provide leadership implementing Lean Manufacturing, 5-S clean program and QA/QC Provide ongoing mentoring, coaching, and development of direct reports to instill a team-focused and quality culture within the department. Identify opportunities for development, and support employees through ongoing coaching/counseling. Administer Panelflex company policies/guidelines to ensure consistent and uniform application. Perform other duties as required. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Effective time management and project management skills Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem-solving skills Strong commitment to providing a superior customer experience Working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing processes and Six Sigma Tools preferred
