Position Summary
The Composites Technician is responsible for fabricating and assembling high-quality composite parts and assemblies, utilizing a variety of cutting-edge techniques to meet aerospace standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Composite Fabrication: Fabricate composite parts and assemblies following detailed instructions and engineering drawings using advanced techniques such as layup, resin infusion, trimming and bonding.
- Layup & Assembly: Perform lay-up, de-molding, and vacuum bagging with precision and efficiency.
- Material Expertise: Apply expert knowledge of composite materials, processes, and best practices in all tasks.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect and verify parts to ensure they meet strict quality and workmanship standards.
- Tool Proficiency: Utilize hand and power tools (grinders, sanders, diamond cutters, polishers, drills, calipers) safely and accurately.
- Repairs & Finishing: Conduct repairs, polishing, deburring, and grinding to meet project specifications.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements and maintain a high standard of workplace organization.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Hands-on experience in composites manufacturing, with aerospace or military defense experience as a strong asset.
- Familiarity with measurement tools and equipment, ensuring accurate and precise work.
