Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Cutter to join our team. This role involves preparing high-quality meat products for retail and wholesale customers, ensuring all items meet safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in food handling, butchery, and food preparation, with a strong commitment to food safety and customer service. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where precision and efficiency are essential.

Duties

Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat according to specifications and customer requests
Ensure all meat products are properly packaged, labeled, and stored in compliance with food safety regulations
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of low supplies
Follow all safety guidelines related to meat handling and equipment operation
Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and offering product recommendations when needed
Adhere to food safety protocols throughout the entire food preparation process
Support team members in maintaining a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications

Prior experience in the food industry, especially in butchery or meat cutting, is preferred
Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations
Ability to perform precise meat cutting and preparation tasks efficiently
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
Kitchen experience or background in food preparation is advantageous
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as required for the role
Food industry certifications or training related to food safety is a plus
