Full job description

We are looking for a skilled Assistant Finance Manager to support the Finance Manager in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to advance their career in a dynamic technology consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
Assist with cash flow management and financial planning activities
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies
Support the preparation of tax filings and liaise with external accountants and auditors
Monitor and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
Assist in the development and implementation of financial procedures and controls
Process payroll and ensure accuracy of employee compensation records
Prepare financial analysis and variance reports for management review
Support budgeting process and track expenses against budget
Maintain and improve financial systems and processes
Assist with special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA is preferred
1-3 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including financial modeling and analysis
Experience with ERP systems is an asset
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in the IT or professional services industry is an asset
