REGISTERED BEHAVIOUR ANALYST
Trillium Lakelands District School Board requires one (1) permanent full-time Registered Behaviour Analysts (R.B.A.s) (ON) commencing September 2, 2026.
Region: Muskoka and/or Haliburton;
Location: Assigned schools within region; office location at Muskoka Education Centre or Haliburton Education Centre
Salary: $86,722 - $94,401 per annum
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a permanent full-time position associated with the school year calendar.
The R.B.A will work closely as a member of the Special Education Interdisciplinary Team under the supervision of the District Principal for Special Education Services, while maintaining clinical autonomy in accordance with College standards. The R.B.A will design and implement behavioural programs and provide leadership, consultation and direct support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex student behaviour to build system capacity. The R.B.A works directly with schools as a collaborative partner with classroom staff, members of the special education team, parents and community agencies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides expertise in the area of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles, strategies and methods.
- Support principals, teachers, educational assistants and multidisciplinary teams by providing and coordinating Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) instructional methods and resources at the Board and school level.
- Provides direct support and coaching to school-based and system staff in the modelling of strategies to shape student behaviour.

Develops and facilitates professional development and training sessions to school-based and system staff as required to build capacity regarding ABA strategies and methods.
- Consults with teachers regarding individual education plans, safety plans and Behaviour programs by incorporating ABA methods.
- Supports the development and implementation of behaviour plans with ongoing monitoring, coaching and revision as required.
- Keeps current with relevant research, initiatives and evidence-based practices as they relate to neurodivergent learners and self regulation.

Utilize and interpret the results of formal and informal observation and curriculum-based assessment in planning for individual student needs.

Liaise and facilitate collaboration between community partners/service providers and schools.
- Attend case conferences, In-School Team meetings, and community agency meetings, as required.

Supports the implementation of Ministry of Education policy in compliance with Policy/Program Memorandum (PPM) No. 140 and No. 156.
- Perform other duties as required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum completion of a relevant Masters Degree or equivalent.

Possess an active Certificate of Registration for a Behaviour Analyst Authorizing Autonomous Practice issued by the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (and be in good standing)
- Minimum of two (2) years related experience.
- Experience working with children and youth with special education.

Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder and complex behavioural needs.

Must possess a valid Ontario Class ‘G' Driver's License and have consistent access to a reliable vehicle to meet the multi-location demands of this position.
Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Background check.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

An understanding of the ways in which the Board, community agencies and organizations can work collaboratively to support students who have neurodiverse learning profiles.

Effective presentation skills.
- Ability to align professional activities with system and Ministry priorities.

Knowledge of elementary and secondary education in Ontario and relevant Ministry policies and procedures (e.g. PPM 140).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Experience working with children and youth who have special education needs, in particular, those who have autism or other neurodiverse learning profiles.

Demonstrated ability to provide/facilitate adult learning and training.

Follows the standards of professional conduct and ethical guidelines outlined by the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.

Demonstrated skills working in and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with IEPs, Behaviour planning, Safety plans and completing Functional Behaviour Assessments.

Excellent organizational and coordinating skills.

Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to travel from site to site
