Full job description

Overview

VK Communications is a growing Ontario-based company providing professional installation services for Starlink satellite internet, security camera systems, alarm systems, access control, structured cabling, networking, and other low-voltage solutions for residential and commercial clients.

We are expanding our network of independent subcontractors and are looking for experienced, reliable, and professional technicians who take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. If you are self-motivated, have your own tools and vehicle, and are looking for consistent subcontracting opportunities, we would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Install and service CCTV/security camera systems.
Install and program alarm systems.
Install access control systems, including door controllers, readers, locks, and exit devices.
Complete residential and commercial low-voltage rough-ins.
Install and terminate CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling.
Install Starlink satellite systems and related networking equipment.
Install network racks, switches, access points, patch panels, and networking devices.
Test, troubleshoot, and commission installed systems.
Read blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams.
Complete installation photos, service reports, and required documentation.
Train customers on the operation of installed systems.
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
Represent VK Communications professionally on every job site.

Qualifications

Experience in low-voltage, telecommunications, security, or electrical installations.
Experience with one or more of the following:
CCTV Systems
Alarm Systems
Access Control
Starlink Installations
Structured Cabling
Network Equipment
Low Voltage Rough-ins
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Comfortable working on ladders, rooftops, and in various weather conditions.
Ability to read installation drawings and construction plans.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

Reliable vehicle.
Complete set of professional installation tools.
24–28 ft extension ladder.
Valid Ontario G Driver's Licence.
Smartphone with internet access.
Working at Heights Certification (preferred).
WHMIS Certification (preferred).
WSIB coverage and Commercial General Liability Insurance (preferred).
Ability to travel to various job sites across Ontario.
