We are seeking a professional and dedicated Full-Time Security Guard to join our security team at a high-end commercial site in Markham!
About the Role:
This role requires excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and the ability to maintain a safe and secure corporate environment.
This position is based in Markham and is scheduled to begin in July 2026. The initial shift will be Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the schedule expected to transition to Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at a later stage.
Candidates must be available for weekday shifts and ready to take on the responsibility of safeguarding our client’s property and supporting a secure and welcoming workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide visible security presence at the premises
- Welcome and manage a steady flow of visitors arriving for meetings, conferences, and various engagements, ensuring a professional and secure environment
- Ensure the safety and security of high-profile visitors, including international guests, attending events, conferences, and product training sessions.
- Respond to emergencies, including fire alarms, and assist Police and Medical personnel when needed
- Conduct routine patrols and monitor property for safety and security concerns
- Maintain daily activity logs and incident reports
- First responder to provide First Aid until professional medical help arrives
- Oversee on-site vendor visits, ensuring smooth coordination between managers and vendors during business hours.
- Act as the first point of contact for contractors arriving to perform building maintenance, repairs, and preventive equipment services, ensuring proper access and compliance with safety protocols
- Facilitate and support maintenance contractors with production equipment repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Respond swiftly and efficiently to employee requests, such as lighting adjustments or any other facility-related needs, ensuring a comfortable workplace.
- Take charge of managing emergencies, providing immediate response, and supporting a safe resolution in any critical situation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid Security Guard license (as per the Private Security & Investigative Services Act)
- Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification
- One (1) year or more of Security Guard experience within a residential/office and/or commercial setting preferred.
- Two(2) years or more of customer service experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of security operations including access control, CCTV monitoring, and daily occurrence logs/patrol documentation (site-specific training will be provided)
- Knowledge of access control systems (e.g., Hartmann Control) will be considered an asset; however, candidates with strong potential will be trained at one of our existing sites where Hartmann Control is in use
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong judgment in routine and emergency situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients, visitors, and contractors
- Ability to handle difficult situations, including managing and removing unauthorized individuals from the premises when required
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including climbing stairs
- Willingness to travel to Markham (additional transportation fare may be required for York Region)
