Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field (Exercise Science, Human Kinetics, Physical Education, Sport Science, etc.) — completed or graduating this year
- Actively pursuing or willing to obtain:
- Personal Training Certification (CPT)
- Strength & Conditioning Certification (e.g., CSCS or equivalent)
- Valid First Aid + CPR-C & AED Certification (required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Kinesiologist (R.Kin) or actively pursuing registration
- Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent
- Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, ACE, ACSM, CanFitPro, etc.)
- Experience coaching youth or competitive athletes
- Experience in a structured, high-performance training environment
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and implementation of structured strength and conditioning programs for:
- Youth athletes
- Rep/competitive teams
- Adult performance clients
- Conduct movement assessments and provide technical feedback
- Demonstrate and coach proper exercise technique, tempo, and training intent
- Track athlete progress and communicate findings with senior coaches
- Support lead coaches during group sessions
- Maintain strong floor presence and athlete engagement at all times
- Float between athletes to ensure coaching density remains high
Facility Standards & Operations
- Equipment reset immediately following sessions
- Training areas organized and prepared before end of shift
- Hourly washroom checks and restocking during shifts
- Cleaning and sanitizing washrooms at the end of shift
- Maintain overall cleanliness and professionalism of the facility
- Participate in team meetings and internal professional development sessions
