We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Parts & Service Advisor with Inside Sales to join our Cranbrook location. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping customers, solving problems, working with equipment, and being part of a busy dealership team. This is also a great opportunity for Parts Apprentices or anyone interested in pursuing a Parts Apprenticeship.
Position Summary
The Parts & Service Advisor with Inside Sales will support customers at the parts counter, assist with service intake and customer communication, help with inside sales opportunities, and assist with organizing and moving equipment around the dealership yard.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, safe equipment operation, and the ability to work with customers in a professional and helpful manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers with parts lookups, parts quotes, and parts orders.
- Answer phone calls and direct customers to the appropriate department or staff member.
- Order, receive, organize, and put away parts.
- Help maintain accurate inventory tracking and inventory control.
- Process customer payments and cashier parts and service invoices.
- Assist with service customer intake, work order creation, scheduling, and customer follow-up.
- Communicate with customers regarding service status, parts availability, estimates, and completed work.
- Build quotes and assist with inside sales for eligible products, including Kubota turf equipment, Stihl products, Husqvarna products, attachments, and related accessories.
- Help customers select the right equipment or product for their property, application, or business needs.
- Support equipment deliveries, product walk-throughs, and basic customer orientation when required.
- Move, park, organize, and reposition equipment around the dealership yard as required.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and staging equipment for customers, service work, deliveries, and display.
- Operate equipment safely and responsibly while moving units around the yard, including tractors, turf equipment, trailers, and outdoor power equipment as appropriate.
- Help maintain an organized, safe, and professional yard and equipment display area.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional parts and customer service area.
- Work closely with the parts, service, and sales teams to support customer needs.
- Participate in product training and dealership training as required.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and customer service standards.
Inside Sales Focus
This position includes inside sales, but it is not a full territory sales role. The main sales focus will be on:
- Kubota turf equipment;
- Stihl handheld and outdoor power equipment;
- Husqvarna turf and outdoor power products;
- Attachments, accessories, and related equipment.
The successful candidate should be comfortable discussing product options with customers, qualifying customer needs, preparing quotes, and helping close appropriate in-store or phone-based sales opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude or experience around equipment, vehicles, small engines, agriculture, turf, construction, or outdoor power equipment.
- Ability to look up parts accurately and understand parts diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail when preparing quotes, invoices, work orders, and parts orders.
- Comfortable using computers, email, point-of-sale systems, and basic Microsoft Office programs.
- Comfortable operating, or willing to learn how to safely operate, equipment around the dealership yard.
- Ability to safely move, park, and organize equipment in a dealership yard setting.
- Valid driver’s licence required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy dealership environment.
- Professional phone manner and ability to direct calls appropriately.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn product lines, dealership systems, and manufacturer programs.
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following areas would be considered an asset:
- Parts counter or parts advisor experience;
- Service advisor or service writer experience;
- Parts Apprenticeships;
- Equipment, automotive, agriculture, turf, or powersports dealership experience;
- Small engine, outdoor power equipment, or mechanical background;
- Kubota, Stihl, Husqvarna, or similar product knowledge;
- Inventory control or warehouse experience;
- Sales or inside sales experience;
- Forklift operation;
- Trailer backing;
- Equipment loading;
- Equipment operation.
Physical Requirements
This role may require standing, walking, lifting, bending, moving parts, assisting with inventory, loading customer purchases, and moving equipment around the dealership yard. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a dealership environment that includes office, parts counter, shop, warehouse, and outdoor yard settings.
