Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Survey Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in land surveying, data collection, and mapping projects, supporting the accurate and efficient completion of various construction and GIS-related tasks. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in advancing their careers within the surveying, civil engineering, or geospatial fields. The position is paid and requires a proactive approach to data management and technical support.

Responsibilities

Conduct field surveys using various surveying instruments and equipment to gather precise spatial data.
Assist with data collection, entry, and management to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Prepare survey drawings, maps, and reports utilizing AutoCAD, CAD, ArcGIS, and GIS software.
Support construction projects by providing survey information for site layout, staking, and boundary determination.
Maintain detailed records of survey data, field notes, and project documentation in databases.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure survey specifications are met.
Perform quality checks on collected data to identify discrepancies or errors for correction.
Support GIS analysis and mapping tasks as needed for project development.

Qualifications

Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, GIS software, and CAD is highly desirable.
Knowledge of construction surveying processes and data collection techniques.
Familiarity with data management practices and database systems related to surveying projects.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle physical aspects of fieldwork.
Basic understanding of geospatial concepts and mapping principles.
Prior experience or education in civil engineering, geomatics, or related fields is a plus.
Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This position provides an engaging environment for those passionate about geospatial technology and land development projects while offering opportunities for professional growth within the industry.

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
