Job Summary
Anderson Handyman is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Construction Laborer / General Construction Worker to join our team in Cranbrook, BC. We focus on general construction, renovations, roofing, siding, fascia, soffit, gutters, deck building, landscaping, painting, drywall, and waste removal.
The ideal candidate will assist with a wide range of construction and exterior tasks, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship. We are looking for people who want to grow with the company long‑term.
Responsibilities
- Assist with roofing tasks (asphalt shingles, metal roofing, repairs, tear‑offs)
- Install and repair siding, fascia, soffit, and gutters
- Assist with deck building, framing, and general construction
- Perform drywall tasks (taping, mudding, sanding, finishing)
- Complete interior and exterior painting
- Assist with flooring installation
- Support landscaping, yard work, and property clean‑ups
- Help with waste removal using truck and trailer
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Follow instructions and work well with supervisors and team members
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
- Adhere to all safety regulations (Fall Safe certification available)
Skills & Experience
- 1+ year of experience in construction, roofing, or general labor
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor
- Comfortable working on roofs and at heights
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic understanding of construction safety practices
- Willingness to learn new skills and grow with the company
Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must show up on time — no‑shows or last‑minute cancellations are not tolerated
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials and equipment
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must be dependable, hardworking, and motivated
Pay Structure
- Basic laborers (little knowledge): $19–$22/hr
- Experienced laborers: $23–$28/hr
- Multi‑skilled tradespeople: up to $33/hr (must prove value through experience and references)
