JOB POSTING: Office Clerk / Warehouse Assistant

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (After Probation Period)

Shift Timings: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Variable work schedule) - Weekend work mandatory

ABOUT THE ROLE

Ava Hi Seas Ship Suppliers Ltd. is seeking a versatile, reliable Office Clerk / Warehouse Assistant to join our Burnaby team. This dual-role position supports both daily office administration and hands-on warehouse/delivery operations in the marine supply industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Office & Administration:

Prepare accurate customer quotations, invoices, and order documentation.
Maintain updated physical and digital filing systems for fast, accurate record retrieval.
Execute routine office and inventory management procedures

Warehouse & Logistics:

Receive, unload, pack, and organize inventory within the warehouse.
Perform picker/packer duties to prepare shipments accurately.
Safely load and unload delivery trucks using standard equipment.
Conduct pickups and deliveries across multiple locations throughout the Lower Mainland.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma preferred.
Prior experience in warehouse operations, office administration, or marine purchasing is a strong asset.

Driving & Physical Capabilities:

Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License (access to a personal vehicle preferred).
Ability to safely operate a forklift (training provided).
Experience driving a 5-ton truck is an asset.
Physical ability to regularly lift and move 50 lbs or more.

Technical Skills & Languages:

Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Adobe applications.
Accurate typing, data entry, and basic math skills for cost calculations and imperial/metric unit conversions.
Fluency in Hindi or Tagalog is considered a valuable asset.

Schedule & Availability:

Employee works a full-time 40-hour schedule per week, which includes mandatory weekend coverage.
Must be flexible with weekday scheduling, as the 2 days off per week will vary based on operational workload and slower days.
