Intermediate Revit Technician (Electrical & Solar)
Are you a strong Revit modeller who wants ownership of the model, not just tickets in a queue? We're looking for a Revit technician who can take electrical and solar design intent and turn it into clean, accurate, well-built models and drawing sets — fast.
You'll be the Revit backbone of our design team, paired with our electrical designer who brings the code and electrical expertise. You bring the Revit horsepower. Together you'll produce tender, permit, and construction sets for commercial and light-industrial electrical and solar projects across Alberta.
About Us
Powering Alberta. By Design.
InfernoEnergy is a design-build electrical and solar contractor for commercial and light industrial in Alberta. Founded in 2019 by Curtis Craig — a Master Electrician and Professional Engineer — we spent our first years building a reputation as one of Alberta's leading solar contractors, installing 20 MW+ of commercial solar.
In 2025, we made a deliberate decision to scale our electrical division. One year in, we've completed a 200,000 sq ft electrical project, have several more awarded, and are well on our way to building Edmonton's next great design-build electrical contractor.
Why Work at InfernoEnergy?
- Own the Revit standard from the ground up — no legacy mess to inherit, and your work directly shapes how we build
- Fast feedback loop: you sit beside an estimator and work closely with PMs who know how to build — your models get pressure-tested against real cost and constructability, not just reviewed for looks
- Working here makes you better at both — your Revit craft gets sharper because the models you build get built, and you'll absorb more electrical and solar knowledge in a year than most techs get in five. You'll also work at the intersection of architectural, structural, and mechanical disciplines — learning how decisions ripple across a whole project, at scale and with speed
- Room to grow: we promote from within; whether your path is BIM lead or you want to absorb electrical and solar design over time, there's runway here
- Opportunity to make a real impact — helping decarbonize Alberta's commercial sector
- Competitive base salary and performance bonus
- Competitive benefits program

About the Role
A full-time, Edmonton-based role at the centre of our design workflow. You'll work alongside our electrical designer, project managers, and stamping engineer. The designer supplies the electrical design intent and code knowledge; you translate it into accurate, production-quality Revit models and drawing sets for tender, permit, and construction — to a high, consistent standard.
Key Accountabilities
- Set up and manage Revit project models — templates, shared coordinates, worksharing
- Link and coordinate architectural, structural, and mechanical models; manage linked files and keep coordinates aligned
- Model and populate electrical and solar systems — equipment, devices, panels, conduit/cable tray, PV arrays, racking, inverters — from designer input and redlines
- Create and maintain Revit families and the electrical/solar content library
- Build and maintain schedules (panel, equipment, device, luminaire, PV) coordinated to the model
- Set up sheets, titleblocks, views, annotation, and details; produce tender, permit, and IFC sets
- Manage revisions, drawing issues, and exports (PDF/DWG); keep sets clean and consistently formatted
- Develop and enforce Revit/BIM standards and naming conventions across the team
- Run basic cross-discipline coordination and flag clashes and conflicts early
Secondary Accountabilities
- Be a team player — clear communication with designers, PMs, and coordinators
- Maintain organized project and bid files; track revisions, RFIs, and addenda
- Attend site visits to capture conditions for modelling
- Juggle multiple projects, prioritize, and hit deadlines
- Help improve templates, content, and process
Qualifications Required
- 3+ years hands-on Revit modelling in a Canadian AEC or contractor environment
- Demonstrated depth — not basic drafting — in worksharing/linked models, family creation, schedules, sheet setup, and drawing production
- Comfortable working from redlines and design direction from others
Differentiators
- Revit MEP / Revit Electrical experience
- Electrical and/or solar PV content experience in Revit
- Dynamo, Navisworks/coordination, or point-cloud experience
- AutoCAD proficiency for legacy and coordination work
- Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code and solar systems (trainable — our designer brings the depth)
- Electrical Engineering Technologist or Architectural Technologist background
Traits for Success at InfernoEnergy
- Highly organized; meets deadlines and manages workload
- Trustworthy, reliable, punctual
- Strong attention to detail and high quality standards
- Finds solutions, thinks creatively, improves processes
- Takes and gives feedback to elevate the group
- Independent self-starter who helps where needed
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Genuine match to our core values
