Job Overview
Clorox is seeking an Electrician to support our Glad Orangeville manufacturing facility. The Electrician is part of a team with various skills that allow them to install, maintain, troubleshoot, & service production equipment and some facility maintenance. The Electrician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility-related equipment to maintain the life of assets in good working order and achieve production reliability at high OEEs.
Duties
- Strictly adhere to all company health and safety requirements including but not limited to control of hazardous energy, lock-out tag-out, arc flash personal protective equipment, pre-work assessments, and work area barricades.
- Safely work with,600 volt three-phase electrical power or less.
- Comply with Clorox electrical safety standards.
- Attend pre-shift meetings, sharing open items / shift challenges with teammates.
- Communicate troubleshooting findings with the maintenance team, department supervisors, shift leaders, set-up operators, & operators.
- Generate work orders, investigate, and prepare countermeasure activities to support fast equipment recovery.
- Identifying open work orders and prioritize maintenance responses to production disruptions.
- Planned maintenance activities with departments to minimize production downtime.
- Using maintenance systems to book out components in accordance with our inventory management system, including data entry into SAP.
- Track / document repair actions and observations made during maintenance activities.
- Urgently respond to Calls For Assistance from production or other departments.
- Able to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics and ladder diagrams.
- Strong PLC systems knowledge, including ladder logic programming experience (AB).
- Robotic programming and re-teaching of Fanuc Robots.
- Effectively utilize various measuring equipment to diagnose/troubleshoot equipment failures (scope, DMM).
- Knowledge of motion equipment that includes PLCs, servo motors & variable frequency drives, HMI panels, other various electrical equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyors, and other product transfer equipment.
- Actively support the development and review of the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program.
- Evaluate equipment performance and estimate wear / change out points using various testing/measuring equipment including thermos-graphic imaging, vibration analysis, SCADA, and other data logging systems.
- Conduct overall equipment effectiveness studies in collaboration with production teams to achieve optimum cost-effective operations.
- Comply with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) for all work performed.
- Maintain exceptional Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) logs addressing any deficiencies as required by the ESA.
- Support continuous improvement projects like TRACC / Operations Excellence based on department objectives.
- Utilize system tools to identify process improvements/cost savings projects.
- Assist in maintenance shutdown and PM (Preventive Maintenance) planning.
- Provide input for the improvement of training materials.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and act.
Years of Experience
- 2 years minimum relevant work experience as a Licensed Electrician.
- Industrial Electrician (442A) or Electrician - Construction Maintenance (309A)
- Experience with various safety devices including interlocks, relays, circuits, and safety cat-3 rated equipment.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid certificate of qualification as Industrial Electrician (442A) or Electrician - Construction Maintenance (309A).
- Demonstrated experience working with high voltage equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work 12-hour continental shift rotation (alternating from days to nights every two weeks).
- Available during plant shutdowns, weekends, and holidays to support various planned or unexpected maintenance projects.

Education Level / Assets:
- Trades license with related post-secondary diploma or equivalent work-related experience in electrical, electronics, robotics, electro-mechanical engineering, or technologist diploma.
Compensation and Shift Information:
- Starting Rate - $46.59 per hour plus shift premium on nights. Overtime as needed.
- 12-hour continental shift schedule – rotation from days to nights every two weeks.
- 1 week @ 36 hours and another @ 48 hours.
