Are you a Nurse Practitioner looking for a new opportunity? In this position, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) ensures the quality, integrity, and value of health services while working with an interdisciplinary team of OH&S professionals.
This role is primarily responsible to provide comprehensive primary and emergency care within their scope of practice, to workers on the Suncor Energy sites within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner:
· Complete advanced, comprehensive and focused health assessments; diagnose health problems; prescribe medications to treat diseases, disorders and injuries; and, order and interpret diagnostic investigations as required.
· Supports integrated disability case management and facilitates fitness to work assessments.
· Support, participate, and lead the execution of health and wellness prevention and promotion education/training strategies (ie. Influenza clinics).
· Supports treatment room operations through input towards and implementation of operational changes. Provides technical and administrative support through project assignments and proposals.
· Provide medical expertise to support the Classification Specialist in the determination of Injury /Illness Classifications as required in accordance with the Suncor standard.
Required Qualifications:
· Current registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) as a Nurse Practitioner in family /all ages or adult practice.
· Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
· Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
· Experience in Occupational Health (i.e. health surveillance and disability management programs).
· Complete site-specific orientation as required
· Medically and physically fit to provide nursing functions
· Willingness to work shift work, including days, nights and evenings
· Ability to successfully obtain clearance for a pre-employment alcohol & drug screen
Location and other Key Details:
· We are seeking casual Nurse Practitioner's to cover vacation and time off for full-time Nurse Practitioners who work a 7/7 rotation.
· The position is based out of Suncor’s Fort Hills location.
· This is a camp-based position that will be fly in/fly out (FIFO) or bus in/bus out (BIBO) from one of Suncor’s two main hubs: Edmonton or Calgary.
