About the Role
NAABA is seeking a motivated, organized, and community-focused Programs & Grants Coordinator to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in supporting Indigenous businesses by coordinating NAABA programs, connecting members with funding and development opportunities, and managing grant and funding initiatives that strengthen our organization and the communities we serve.
Working closely with the Executive Director, the Programs & Grants Coordinator will support program delivery, member engagement, funding administration, reporting, and stakeholder relationships. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating opportunities for Indigenous businesses and entrepreneurs.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Member Support
- Promote, facilitate, and enhance NAABA programs through regular interaction with prospective, new, and existing members.
- Build strong relationships with members and increase awareness of available programs, services, and opportunities.
- Provide timely and accurate information regarding NAABA programs, funding opportunities, and business resources.
- Support members in accessing grants, funding programs, business development services, and capacity-building opportunities.
- Identify and promote relevant training, learning, and development opportunities for Indigenous businesses.
- Build collaborative relationships with external organizations, partners, and service providers to expand opportunities for members.
- Support the planning and delivery of workshops, networking events, and community initiatives.
- Assist with event logistics, including setup, registration, coordination, and teardown as required.
- Address member concerns and inquiries professionally and recommend solutions to leadership.
Grants & Funding Administration
- Research and identify grant and funding opportunities that align with NAABA's strategic priorities.
- Prepare and support grant applications, including gathering supporting documentation and developing budgets.
- Track funding agreements, reporting deadlines, deliverables, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of grants, budgets, reports, invoices, and program documentation.
- Prepare funding reports and administrative documentation for funders and leadership.
- Monitor project progress and ensure reporting obligations are completed on time.
- Support financial tracking and program evaluation activities related to funded projects.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with funders, government agencies, Indigenous communities, partners, and members.
- Support communications related to funding opportunities, program updates, and success stories.
- Assist with partnership development initiatives that enhance services available to Indigenous businesses.
- Represent NAABA professionally at community events, meetings, and networking opportunities when required.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Project Management, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in program coordination, grant administration, project management, community development, or a related role.
- A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience preparing grant applications and funding reports is considered a strong asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable performing manual tasks related to event setup and teardown.
- Must have a working awareness of Indigenous culture, history, and communities.
