Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wood Buffalo (BBBSWB) is a not-for-profit charitable organization with the mission to ignite the power of young people in Wood Buffalo through mentorship. We support 6–18‑year‑olds to develop and express themselves with confidence, cultivate strong, trust-based relationships that enhance community and unlock potential, and prioritize inclusive, culturally informed programs and relationships grounded in respect, safety, and belonging.

Job Description

Job Title: Program Coordinator
Reports to: Program Manager
Working Hours: Monday - Friday (evenings and weekends as needed)
Job Type: Full-time (37.5hrs/week)
Salary: $26.00-$33.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Plan, facilitate and evaluate mentoring programs and events.
Liaise with Program Facilitators to ensure successful program delivery.
Conduct program intakes, assessments, pre-match trainings, closures and complete all required documentation in accordance with policies, procedures, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada National Standards.
Complete all administrative functions as required to maintain case notes on all clients in accordance with the BBBSC Standards. This includes becoming proficient in using Dynamics CRM Database.
Support any additional administration of program delivery as needed.
Maintain and foster positive relationships with schools, community youth service agencies, other community groups, clubs and the general public as required.
Provide reports with service delivery updates to the Program Manager.
Assist with other BBBSWB events and initiatives as required.
All other duties deemed necessary.

Qualifications

In accordance with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada’s national Child Safety standards, all Service Delivery staff must “have specific training in understanding human growth and development, appropriate interpersonal skills, child safety training, and volunteer program management.” For this position, this training shall include post-secondary in education, human/ social services, psychology, and/or family sciences with the minimum two-year diploma in related fields. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in fields listed above.

In addition to this, the incumbent shall also possess:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children ages 6-18 and/or their families
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an Educational Institution, Social Services, Non-Profit environment or equivalent experience will be considered
Experience with a variety of agencies and individuals
Experience facilitating large groups of children, teens, adults and peers
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural ethnicities (specifically Indigenous, Aboriginal/First Nations, Métis, Inuit)
Ability to work independently and as part of an integral team
Strong computer skills, efficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools
Ability to work flexible hours
Valid Class 5 drivers license and access to a personal vehicle
Clean Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check

Pay: $26.00-$33.00 per hour
