Requirements:
New Brunswick Teacher's Certificate
A Bachelor's Degree in Education.
Teaching Skills and Qualities:
Experiential learning: Proven ability to provide experiential learning opportunities, engaging students through hands-on, immersive experiences that foster deep understanding and curiosity.
Personalized Instruction: Willingness to teach students in a personalized manner through the use of flexible groupings.
Place-based learning: Able to work with community leaders in their physical locations - learning and teaching takes place in locations outside of the school.
Curriculum Development: The ability to develop and deliver instructional lessons tailored to meet the personalized needs of students using experiential approaches and working closely with community partners.
Innovative & Collaborative Teaching: A willingness to foster innovation in teaching by incorporating cross-curricular elements, hands-on and project-based learning experiences, flexible groupings, and educational technology to enhance the learning environment.
Assessment Skills: Proficiency in implementing ongoing assessments to monitor student progress, identifying areas for improvement, and providing constructive feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
Data-Driven Approach: Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and applying student performance data to inform instructional decisions, create personalized learning plans, and continuously improve academic outcomes.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with parents, colleagues, community partners, and students.
