Position: Service Technician

Company name: Industrial Drive Services Inc.

Location of work: Hensall, ON, N0M 1X0 - Various location. This position requires that the Technician visit different customer locations.

Salary: To be discussed

The position is Permanent and full time: 40h/week

Flexibility is required: Day, Evening, Morning, On Call, Overtime, Weekend

Start date: as soon as possible

Language required: English speaker, reader, writer

Responsibilities

Tasks-job duties

Respond in a timely and professinal manner to service calls at the customer locations including electrical control systems, electric motors, drives, PLCs and other protective and switching equipment located in the control panel.
Be able to troubleshoot equipment feedback devices, such as encoders and sensors.
Assist in design, development and testing
Be able to repair drives in-house
Exhibit good knowledge of electrical and mechanical design
Assist in preparing estimates, schedules, specifications and reports
Know how to produce basic electrical and mechanical design
Read and interpret blueprints
Install, maintain and service equipment
Assist in inspecting, testing and adjusting electronic components
Calibrate electronic equipment and instruments
Assist in building and testing prototypes to specifications
Collect and compile operational or experimental data
Carry out applied research in fields of electrical and electronic engineering and physics
Conduct or supervise the installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems
Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems
Conduct life tests (burn-ins) on components, subassemblies and assemblies

Experience and specialization.

Proficiency in control circuit design is critical
Proficiency in electrical motor control is critical
