Furball's Choice is a multi-award winning Pet Care and Natural Pet Food Company in Belleville Ontario. We have been providing our services in Belleville and surrounding areas since 2011.
Our ideal candidate will be a willing and efficient learner who is detail oriented and organized with the information provided to them. There is a lot of information and training that will be provided to ensure you are equipped with the tools necessary to succeed with us. Our business develops strong, trusting relationships with our clients who depend on us to provide them with outstanding service and advice for their furry family members.
Our services are provided to our clients animals in their own home. Candidates for this job will need to have a valid G or G2 drivers license and their own vehicle that they can use to travel to each client throughout their shift. We provide services to clients in Trenton, Frankford, Stirling, Corbyville, Bayside and Belleville.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Be a minimum of 18 years old.
- Have a valid full G or G2 drivers license.
- Have your own reliable vehicle that you can use for work.

- Read, write, type and speak fluent English.
- Reside within 15 km of Belleville.
- Available to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays and split shifts.
- Provide a clean criminal record check upon hire in order to be bondable and insurable.

Skills and Experience:
- Must have strong customer service skills, communicate well with team members and management, be sufficient in problem solving and time management with the ability to work independently.
- Candidate must be naturally patient and compassionate, must be understanding and have a friendly and personable demeanor.
- Educational background in animal behavior, biology, psychology and/or professional/volunteer experience working in kennels, dog walking, dog daycare, animal care, dog training, etc. is an asset
- Have knowledge and an understanding in animal behavior and body language cues (anxious, fearful, happy, comfortable, nervous) is an asset
- Comfortable working with all types of pets, including but not limited to: dogs, cats, birds, small pocket pets such as hamsters, guinea pigs and rabbits, fish, lizards, goats, horses, donkeys, chickens and more.
- Comfortable working with all breeds and sizes of dogs and walking multiple dogs on leash. You will receive training on multi-dog handling skills and safety procedures.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to walk 10 to 20km a day and lift 40lbs repetitively. We will provide on the job training.
- Strong reliability and dedication to the job - we have an established reputation in the community for our reliability and professional service to the animals in our care and we are looking to hire people who take this seriously
Please note that we may be unable to work around some other job schedules for this position. This position is not suitable for summer students who are returning to school outside of the area in September. This is not a seasonal position.
We build honest, long lasting relationships with our clients and their pets, and we want to hire individuals who will support our vision as a dedicated small business. We are currently looking to fill:
1. Part-time (15 to 30 hours a week)- including Friday, Saturday and occasional Sundays. This position includes days, evenings, weekends, holiday and split shifts. This position could lead to fulltime for the right candidate
2. Part-time (10-20 hours a week) - including Fridays, Saturdays and occasional Sundays. This position includes evenings, weekends, holidays and split shifts. Ideal for a student returning to college in the area come September.
