Assistant Director of Care - VILLA ST. GABRIEL VILLA

Permanent Full-Time

CA$96,605.64 - CA$120,757.95 annually

Villa St. Gabriel Villa is a 128-bed long-term care home providing the highest standards of resident care. The home is located in Chelmsford. Our approach to holistic care respects the unique needs and fosters the spiritual, physical and emotional well-being of each of our residents.

The primary goal of the Assistant Director of Care is to work alongside the Director of Care and the clinical team to ensure our long-term care residents are receiving high quality, person-centred care that is in alignment with our values of Dignity, Excellence, Service, and Integrity. The Assistant Director of Care serves as a resource for infection prevention and control (IPAC) initiatives in the home and is a leader in quality improvement to ensure the clinical services provided by our staff continue to be in alignment with best practices, accreditation standards, the Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act, and other legislative and regulatory requirements as applicable. The Assistant Director of Care assists the Director of Care in working with the interprofessional team to nurture the work environment and the care environment to promote caring, compassion, and psychological health and wellbeing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

RN Diploma or Degree with current CNO Registration
A minimum of two years of management/supervisory experience, preferably in a Long-Term Care environment
Solid foundation in frontline nursing with at least five years of nursing experience, preferably with at least one year in a long term care setting
Extensive knowledge of the Fixing Long Term Care Homes Act and regulations is preferred
Proven ability to work collaboratively and serve in a leadership/mentorship role in an interdisciplinary team environment
Proven ability to facilitate and manage change, and to be flexible, innovative and creative
Excellent communication skills for interaction with residents, families, staff, the Ministry of Long-term Care, community partners and the general public
French Language Service Designation: Bilingualism, English and French, is required.

Le rôle principal de la ou du titulaire du poste est de collaborer avec la direction des soins et l’équipe clinique afin de veiller à ce que les résidentes et les résidents de l’établissement de soins de longue durée reçoivent des soins de grande qualité centrés sur la personne, conformément à nos valeurs de dignité, d’excellence, de service et d’intégrité. C’est une personne-ressource dans le cadre des initiatives de prévention et de contrôle des infections (PCI) au sein de l’établissement qui joue également un rôle de premier plan pour améliorer la qualité afin que les services cliniques offerts par le personnel demeurent conformes aux pratiques exemplaires, aux normes d’agrément, à la Loi sur le redressement des soins de longue durée, ainsi qu’aux autres exigences législatives et réglementaires applicables. La ou le titulaire du poste épaule la direction des soins afin de mobiliser l'équipe interprofessionnelle autour d'un objectif commun : cultiver un milieu de travail et de soins propice à l'empathie, à la compassion, ainsi qu’à la santé et au bien-être psychologiques.

EXIGENCES :

Diplôme ou titre d’infirmier(ère) autorisé(e) (IA) actuellement reconnu par l’Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers de l’Ontario.
Au moins deux ans d’expérience dans l’exercice de fonctions de gestion ou de supervision, dans un milieu de soins de longue durée, de préférence.
Vaste expérience en soins infirmiers de première ligne et au moins cinq ans d'expérience en soins infirmiers, dont une année (de préférence) dans un établissement de soins de longue durée.
Connaissance approfondie de la Loi sur le redressement des foyers de soins de longue durée et des règlements connexes, de préférence.
Capacité éprouvée de travailler en collaboration et d’exercer un rôle de leadership ou de mentorat au sein d’une équipe interdisciplinaire.
Capacité éprouvée de favoriser et de gérer le changement et de faire preuve de flexibilité, d’innovation et de créativité.
Excellentes compétences en communication pour interagir avec des résidents, des familles, des membres du personnel, le ministère des Soins de longue durée, des partenaires communautaires et le grand public.
Bilinguisme (français et anglais) obligatoire, conformément à notre désignation d’établissement offrant des services en français.
