Overview
The Vice President of IT Services is the senior executive accountable for the strategic direction, operational performance, financial results, and long-term growth of the Managed Services & IT Projects division. This role provides strong leadership across all aspects and outcomes of the division, ensuring excellent customer outcomes, sustainable profitability, innovation, and operational excellence/efficiency.
In addition to divisional leadership responsibilities, this role serves as a strategic advisor to affiliated companies and executive leadership, contributing to broader organizational technology initiatives, IT strategy, and long-term business planning.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Develop and execute the strategic vision, roadmap, and annual operating plan for the Managed Services & IT Projects division.
- Drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.
- Identify and help pursue new business opportunities, service offerings, partnerships, and innovation initiatives that support ABM’s objectives.
Financial & Operational Accountability
- Maintain full accountability for divisional financial performance and health.
- Ensure operational processes, service delivery models, and organizational structures support scalable growth.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, profitability, customer retention, and service quality.
- Manage risk within the department through appropriate governance, compliance, security, and operational controls.
Customer Success & Revenue Expansion
- Maintain executive-level relationships with key clients and strategic accounts.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success teams to support client acquisition, retention, and customer growth.
- Serve as an executive escalation point for significant client, operational, or contractual matters.
- Lead the evolution of service offerings to maintain competitiveness and support changing customer requirements.
Enterprise & Executive Collaboration
- Participate as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to overall organizational strategy, planning, and performance.
- Provide strategic guidance and advisory support to OpCo’s regarding technology operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT leadership.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and parent organization to help shape enterprise technology direction, priorities, investments, and long-term vision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree considered an asset.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience within technology services, managed services, or IT operations.
- Minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience with direct accountability for financial performance, organizational strategy, and business growth.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary technology teams through periods of growth, transformation, and organizational change.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, P&L responsibility, margin optimization, and strategic investment decisions.
- Proven experience managing and developing senior leaders, including Directors, Managers, and technical leadership teams.
- Strong understanding of managed services delivery, project services, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, infrastructure, and modern IT operations.
