Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Inventory Optimization Coordinator to support the reduction and utilization of excess, slow-moving, and non-moving inventory. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking inventory items, coordinating with internal departments, following up on action plans, and ensuring that identified inventory opportunities are progressed to completion.
This role is heavily focused on communication, follow-up, coordination, and execution. The Inventory Optimization Coordinator will work closely with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Production, Quality, R&D, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure inventory is actively reviewed and moved toward consumption, transfer, repurposing, or disposition.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and regularly update reports for excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory.
- Review assigned inventory items and ensure each item has an active action plan.
- Coordinate and follow up with internal stakeholders regarding inventory utilization opportunities.
- Track progress of inventory reduction initiatives and ensure agreed actions are completed on time.
- Schedule and participate in inventory review meetings.
- Document status updates, action items, and expected completion dates for each inventory item.
- Escalate delayed actions and unresolved issues to management when required.
- Monitor inventory aging and identify items requiring immediate attention.
- Work closely with Supply Chain and Operations teams to ensure inventory reduction targets are achieved.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and outcomes.
- Generate weekly and monthly reports showing progress, achievements, and outstanding inventory items.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management and inventory reduction processes.
Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, purchasing, production planning, or operations coordination.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to travel to US to visit the production plants and meet with warehouse team.
- Strong attention to detail and accountability.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP Business One, is considered a significant asset.
- Experience working in food, spice, ingredient, manufacturing, or distribution environments is considered an asset.
