Basic Employee Responsibilities
Every Q2 ALS employee is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner.

This position is based in person at our Red Deer Location- 7883 Edgar Industrial Way.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

Leading by example by following established Quality, Health and Safety policies & procedures.
Showing respect and pride for facilities and equipment.
Being responsible – on time for work and taking breaks during designated times.
Carrying out other tasks from time to time as assigned by a supervisor or request for assistance as needed.

Position Specific Responsibilities

Collaborate with Engineering team in drafting, designing and failure analysis.
Preparing metallurgical samples and utilizing sophisticated laboratory apparatus ie. XRF, microhardness testers, molding creator and stereomicroscopes.
Create and develop 3D models and drawings using Inventor or similar 3D modeling software.
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, insights, and actionable outcomes.
Work on new product deliverables and operational deliverables.
Perform any other duties as assigned to ensure project goals and tasks are completed within established deadlines.
Research and implement conceptual designs, optimized material and procedures.
Preparing 3D samples for laboratory flow run testing.
Strong communications skills is an asset.
Program chemical inhibitors for specialty tools.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or technology diploma in Engineering or a related field
Certified by APEAGA or ASET
Strong knowledge of design principles and manufacturing processes
Proficiency in CAD software (Inventor, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
Power BI experience is an asset.
Experience with materials selection, metallurgy, and failure analysis
Able to work in a small team in a fast paced environment
Strong communication and technical documentation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines

Physical Demands

Primarily office-based with lab exposure
Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer
Occasional lifting and interaction with components or equipment
Use of handheld measuring tools and small metal components (Caliper, micrometer, height gages, etc.)
